North Macedonia holds August state matura exams

The August session for state matura external exams in North Macedonia is scheduled for August 12 and 14, starting at 9:00 AM. According to the State Examination Center (SEC), 1,328 students have registered for the state matura, 126 for the professional matura, and six for the artistic matura.

On August 12, students will take the elective external exam in either mathematics or English. No candidates have registered for other foreign languages or history for this session. The mandatory external exam in mother tongue and literature will take place on August 14.

Due to the lower number of candidates compared to the June session, exams will be held across eight locations in four cities: Skopje, Tetovo, Prilep, and Shtip. In Skopje, testing will occur at the Economic, Civil Engineering, and Pedagogical faculties, as well as the ‘Boro Petrushevski’ sports hall.

The session includes 226 graduates whose June exams were annulled due to cheating. Officials noted that the June session saw an average grade of 3.66 across all three matura types, maintaining consistency with previous years.
