North Macedonia tests ‘m. Services’ mobile app for digital IDs

North Macedonia is preparing to launch ‘m. Services’, a new mobile application designed to centralize digital government services and personal identification. Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski announced that the app is currently in the testing phase and is scheduled for a major public promotion in October.

In its initial version, the application will provide electronic versions of national ID cards and driver’s licenses, alongside several public administration services. The app is intended to serve as a single digital hub for citizens to interact with the state. Use of the app will be voluntary, and citizens may continue to use physical documents if they prefer.

The project, valued at 1.5 million euros, was developed by Macedonian engineers and was funded through cooperation with the European Union and relevant institutions from Poland and Ukraine, rather than the national budget. The state will maintain full ownership of the product.
