North Macedonia to launch m. Uslugi mobile super-app
North Macedonia's Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, has announced the launch of 'm. Uslugi', a national mobile super-app designed to provide citizens with access to electronic documents and state services. The official promotion is scheduled for October 28, with the app becoming available for download on Play Store and App Store starting October 29.
In its initial version, the application will feature electronic versions of identity cards and driver's licenses, as well as services for verifying work seniority and accessing personal data from the Central Population Register. These digital documents will be linked to a secure electronic identification mechanism rather than being simple photographs.
The project, valued at over 1.5 million euros, is funded entirely by the European Union, incurring no cost to the Macedonian budget. Development was conducted in cooperation with the Council of Europe and with support from Poland and Ukraine. Use of the app will be free and optional, allowing citizens to continue using traditional administrative methods.
While the initiative has received positive feedback, some citizens have expressed concerns regarding digital accessibility for elderly populations who may require assistance to navigate the new technology.
