North Macedonia weather forecast: Cold front and snow expected

North Macedonia is expecting a significant weather shift as a cold front approaches. While current conditions remain mostly sunny with moderate cloud cover, strong northern winds are expected to bring a rapid cooling effect, particularly along the Vardar region and within the Skopje valley.

Forecasts from the Hydrometeorological Service indicate that the upcoming cold front will bring variable cloudiness and local rain showers. In higher mountain elevations, rain is expected to transition into snow, marking a serious autumnal cooling. Morning minimum temperatures are projected to range between 0 and 7 degrees Celsius, with daytime maximums between 10 and 18 degrees.

Wind speeds along the Vardar may exceed 60 kilometers per hour during the peak of the weather change. Conditions are expected to stabilize by Saturday with more sunshine and temperatures rising to 21 degrees, followed by a warmer, sunny Sunday with highs reaching up to 23 degrees.
