North Macedonian parliamentary delegation visits Riyadh

A delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, led by President Afrim Gashi, conducted an official visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The delegation included MPs Nikola Mitcevski, Oliver Spasovski, and Adnan Azizi.

During the visit, President Gashi met with the President of the Shura Council, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh. The discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between the two nations, emphasizing mutual respect, peace, and stability. Gashi noted the significant opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as investment, energy, tourism, agriculture, technology, and trade, while expressing respect for the achievements of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030’.

Key priorities identified for future cooperation include economic collaboration, digital transformation, and tourism. Specifically, leaders highlighted the need for enhanced engagement between institutions to promote tourism and discussed the potential for easing visa regimes and establishing direct air connectivity between the two countries. The delegation also met with Dr. Ali M. Al-Shukhtani, President of the Friendship Group, to discuss the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
