Macedonia's Foreign Minister Muçunski says reforms continue as EU membership remains goal
Timcho Muçunski, Macedonia's minister of foreign affairs and trade, said the government has worked from day one on a solution that strengthens the country's position and ensures a predictable EU integration process. He noted active dialogue with EU member states, European institutions and neighbouring Bulgaria, but no acceptable agreement has yet been reached.
Muçunski stressed that national interests remain paramount while internal reforms continue, aimed at citizens and the business community. He said step‑by‑step integration should run alongside accession talks, with candidate countries expected to gain more rights and access to EU funds before full membership. The minister described the reforms as proof that Macedonia is becoming a reliable EU actor.
