North Macedonia's Miloski seeks Spanish backing to break EU accession deadlock

North Macedonia's parliamentary speaker Antonio Miloski met with Spain's state secretary for European Union affairs, Fernando Mariano Sampedro Marcos. Miloski thanked Spain for its active role in EU enlargement and praised its continued support for Macedonia's European perspective.

Miloski asked Spain, as an influential EU member, to help resolve the lingering bilateral dispute with Bulgaria and to back Macedonia's full EU membership, stressing that accession should be based on merit, criteria fulfilment and European values. He said, "The enlargement will be a win‑win situation for a united Europe," and highlighted that Macedonia aims to advance its EU path alongside Ukraine and Moldova.
