North Rhine-Westphalia allocates urban development funds to Hürth and Raesfeld
The German state of North Rhine-Westphalia has announced significant funding for urban development and historical preservation projects.
The city of Hürth will receive 1.44 million euros from federal and state funds to support its Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK). This funding is designated for the revitalization of the Alt-Hürth town center, focusing on areas such as commerce, housing, climate, transport, and urban design. The project is part of a ten-year development plan created through community participation.
Additionally, 7 million euros have been allocated for the renovation of the outer bailey of Schloss Raesfeld. North Rhine-Westphalia Construction Minister Ina Scharrenbach presented the funding notice to the Academy of Crafts, which will oversee the modernization of the historic site. This project aims to secure the long-term future of the castle location following years of planning.
