North Rhine-Westphalia allocates urban development funds to Steinfurt and Bad Honnef

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia has approved significant urban development funding for several municipalities. In the Steinfurt district, approximately 5.5 million euros have been allocated for the redesign and renovation of the Burgberg area as part of the ‘Historical Tecklenburg City Center and Adjacent Natural Landscape’ project. This investment aims to enhance the historical landmark, improve biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience through the redesign of the north slope and promenade, as well as the renovation of historical walls.

Additionally, the city of Bad Honnef has received nearly 2.7 million euros in funding from federal and state sources. These funds are designated for the continued development of the city center and the improvement of public spaces. Key projects include the redesign of Rathausplatz to create a climate-adapted, barrier-free connection to Kirchplatz and enhancing the connection between the city center and the Rhine riverbank via a new mobility hub at the upcoming DB stop.
