Veronica Ferres and Carsten Maschmeyer announce separation
Actress Veronica Ferres and investor Carsten Maschmeyer have announced their separation after more than 15 years together. Their media lawyer, Christian Schertz, confirmed that the decision was made some time ago and was entirely amicable. In a joint statement, the couple cited their demanding professional lives as a primary reason, noting that their roles as an actress, producer, and investor require them to be in many different locations worldwide. They emphasized that their relationship has evolved into a “deep, trusting friendship” and expressed their commitment to the well-being of their respective families and stepchildren.
Separately, Veronica Ferres has been honored with the Order of Merit of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW-Verdienstorden). Minister President Hendrik Wüst presented the award to Ferres for her contributions to making the region visible as a cultural and film location, as well as her social engagement for disadvantaged and seriously ill children. She was among 16 recipients honored during the state's 80th anniversary celebrations, which also included former SPD leader Franz Müntefering.
