North Rhine-Westphalia launches university finder platform
Prospective students in North Rhine-Westphalia can now use a centralized digital platform to explore academic opportunities. The new 'Hochschulfinder' provides information on more than 2,000 undergraduate degree programs across 65 different university locations in the region.
The platform was initiated by 36 state universities to promote their offerings collectively. It allows users to filter searches based on more than just academic subjects, including criteria such as living costs, urban culture, proximity to nature, and local transportation connections.
According to the Landesrektorenkonferenz (LRK) of universities, students are increasingly prioritizing the study environment and personal lifestyle alongside their chosen field of study. Note that the current platform specifically features state institutions and does not include private or religious universities.
