German police conduct raids and missing person searches

Police in Germany are conducting several distinct operations across different regions. In Bavaria, authorities have launched excavations in the Oberpfalz region near Berg to search for Kerstin Lee Langley, who has been missing since 2007. The search follows new leads suggesting a meadow and forest area may be a potential site, including investigating tips from a self-described ‘seer’.

In North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), a large-scale raid involving special units and the Federal Criminal Police Office is targeting organized crime. The operations, centered around the Cologne area, are investigating suspected organized trafficking of weapons and narcotics.

Additionally, new statistics from the NRW Ministry of the Interior reveal significant variations in police response times. In urgent situations where a perpetrator is still present, response times range from approximately 3 minutes in the Olpe district to over 9 minutes in Höxter. Urban areas like Cologne and Bielefeld see slightly longer response times, which officials attribute to heavy traffic congestion.
