North Rhine-Westphalia ranks fourth in Germany Happiness Atlas

North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) has secured fourth place in the 2025 SKL Happiness Atlas, achieving a satisfaction score of 7.19 out of 10. This represents a slight increase in satisfaction compared to the previous year. The happiest regions within the state include Münsterland, Cologne, and Düsseldorf.

In the national rankings, Hamburg holds the first position, while Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate share second place. The state's performance has also drawn attention from social media, where users have praised the openness and friendliness of the citizens in the western federal state.
