North Rhine-Westphalia strengthens economic ties through trade and education

The German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) maintains deep economic ties with China, serving as a major European hub for Chinese companies. With over one thousand Chinese firms established in the region, the connection spans logistics, trade, and science. Duisburg serves as a critical rail hub for goods arriving from China, while Düsseldorf remains a preferred location for corporate settlements.

In a related development for the regional economy, the private business school WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management has announced it will relocate its main headquarters from Rhineland-Palatinate to Düsseldorf. The institution plans to consolidate its activities on a new central campus in the city to foster closer ties with industry and innovation. NRW Minister-President Hendrik Wüst noted that the move highlights the state's international appeal for research and entrepreneurship.
