Rinteln, Germany – Minor traffic collision injures one driver

On 11 July 2026 at 19:37, a rear‑end collision occurred at the Arensburger Straße intersection in Steinbergen, near Rinteln. A 23‑year‑old driver from Detmold stopped his Skoda at a red traffic light that was malfunctioning. A 28‑year‑old woman from Hannover, driving a Mercedes behind the Skoda, struck the stopped vehicle. Police determined the Skoda was stationary, rejecting the driver’s claim that it had moved backwards. One passenger in the Skoda, a 23‑year‑old woman, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Vehicle damage was estimated at €3,500, and the traffic light defect was subsequently repaired by the road authority.
