North Savo business outlook leads Finland in optimism

Business sentiment in the North Savo region of Finland has reached the highest level of optimism in the country. According to the October business barometer from the Confederation of Finnish Industries and the Kuopio Chamber of Commerce, the regional outlook score rose to 19, surpassing other regions including Pirkanmaa, Pohjanmaa, and Uusimaa.

While the current business situation in North Savo improved from a balance of –56 in July to –39 in October, it remains in negative territory. This contrasts with the national trend, where the overall business situation score declined from –20 to –24 during the same period.

Despite the positive outlook, companies in the region face several challenges, including insufficient demand, availability of skilled labor, and financing difficulties. Kaija Savolainen, CEO of the Kuopio Chamber of Commerce, noted that businesses demonstrate a clear will to grow despite a challenging operating environment.
