North Sulawesi proposes Rp3.24 trillion regional budget for 2027
The North Sulawesi Provincial Government has submitted the 2027 Regional Budget Draft (Ranperda APBD) to the Provincial DPRD. Governor Yulius Selvanus projected regional revenue to reach approximately Rp3.24 trillion, with planned regional expenditures set at Rp3.04 trillion.
The budget proposal aims to translate macro policies and eight regional development priorities into measurable commitments. The government stated it is following principles of prudence, adaptability, and anticipation in its fiscal management.
During the plenary session, various political factions provided feedback. The Golkar Party faction acknowledged the province's achievements in education access but raised concerns regarding education program allocations that appear lower than previous planning documents. They also requested clarification on regional financing, specifically regarding a Rp210 billion debt obligation payment due in 2027.
The Democrat Party faction emphasized that priority programs must directly address community needs and improve public welfare. They urged the government to evaluate ceremonial activities to ensure funds are redirected toward programs providing direct benefits to the people of North Sulawesi.
