North Sulawesi students qualify for national science and sports competitions

Students from North Sulawesi have qualified for national-level competitions in both science and sports.

Junivia Vanecia Tulung, a student from Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Atas (SRMA) 44 Minahasa, has advanced to the National Science Olympiad (OSN) in Biology. After succeeding at the provincial level, she is scheduled to compete nationally from August 25–31, 2026. School officials noted that her achievement aims to demonstrate that students from community schools can compete academically despite economic limitations.

In the field of sports, Risten Deren Haribulan, a student from SDN Inpres Lenganeng in the Sangihe Islands Regency, secured first place at the North Sulawesi provincial level in Pencak Silat. He will represent the province at the National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN).
