North Sulawesi has secured the overall championship title and the 2026 President's Cup at the PORDASI National Horse Racing Championship (Kejurnas) Series II. The event, held at the Maesa Tompaso Racecourse in North Sulawesi, saw Sinar Sulteng, ridden by jockey Aprilio Wenas, win the Class F-1,000 Meter race.

Following the victory, North Sulawesi Governor Yulius Selvanus announced that President Prabowo Subianto plans to develop an international-scale horse racing arena in the province. The Governor stated that the project aims to support the development of equestrian sports and benefit local breeders, owners, jockeys, and trainers. The provincial government intends to support the sport through both physical facilities and non-physical training to help local athletes compete internationally.
