North Sumatra Governor allocates Rp50 billion for MSMEs
North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has announced an allocation of Rp50 billion in capital assistance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for the upcoming year. The initiative aims to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem and support national goals to create 10 million new entrepreneurs.
During an event at the University of North Sumatra, Nasution noted that the province hosts approximately 1.4 million MSME units, with 98.9% categorized as micro or small businesses. The provincial government intends to focus on sectors such as culinary and tourism, providing easier access to capital through institutions like Bank Sumut to drive economic welfare and job creation.
