North Sumatra's 2026 Regional Revenue Reaches Over 50% of Target

The Provincial Revenue (PAD) for North Sumatra (Sumut) for fiscal year 2026 has surpassed the halfway mark, with actual collections at about Rp3.5 trillion—50.01 % of the Rp6.967 trillion target. Bapenda head Sutan Tolang announced on 30 July 2026 that “total target PAD year 2026 is Rp6,967,065,771,493. To date we have realized Rp3,484,237,120,384 or 50.01 %.”

Progress comes from seven local tax and retribution categories: vehicle tax (41.60 % of target), motor‑vehicle name‑transfer tax (43.88 %), fuel tax (50.03 %), surface‑water tax (79.69 %), cigarette tax (50.06 %), heavy‑equipment tax and others. Retribution collection also rose to 58.92 % of its target, amounting to Rp143.3 billion of Rp243.2 billion. The agency cites programs such as the “Gebyar Pajak” campaign and the “GAS‑KEN” tax‑awareness drive as drivers of the improved performance.
