North Texas hosts various local author and bookstore events

North Texas is hosting several literary events, including the annual North Texas Indie Bookstore Crawl throughout August. This event involves more than 30 participating bookstores where visitors can collect stamps in a passport for a chance to win a grand prize.

Among the participants is The Dock, a Black-owned independent bookshop in Meadowbrook owned by sisters Donna and Donya Craddock. The shop serves as a community hub and is part of the lead-up to the fifth annual Trinity River Book Festival on September 12, which will feature over 50 authors, live music, and discussion panels.

Additionally, the second annual Local Author Crawl is being held at the Half Price Books flagship store in Dallas. In partnership with the DFW Writers’ Workshop, the event allows approximately 20 local writers to meet readers, sign books, and showcase various genres ranging from children's literature to adult fiction.
