North Thompson firefighters deployed to combat B.C. wildfires

Firefighting crews from the North Thompson region provided critical assistance to various British Columbia communities during a difficult wildfire season. Several local departments, including Barriere Fire Rescue, Blackpool Fire Rescue, and the Vavenby Fire Department, deployed members to threatened areas in the province's Interior.

Barriere Fire Rescue reported the safe return of a crew following a 14-day deployment to the Clinton area. Additionally, the Clearwater Volunteer Fire Department noted that several crews rotated through deployments, with some members spending up to two weeks away from home. The department highlighted the endurance of their equipment, specifically mentioning the return of their Bushtruck 2 after 37 days on the fireline.
