North-West University launches new book on workplace well-being
The Optentia Research Unit at North-West University officially launched a new open-access book titled ‘Capabilities at Work: The Added Value of the Capability Model for Well-Being and Work’ on 23 September. Edited by Professor Jac van der Klink and Professor Sebastiaan Rothmann, the publication was introduced during a hybrid event at Momentum in Centurion.
The book explores human potential and well-being by moving beyond traditional metrics of productivity and performance. Utilizing the capability approach, the 15 chapters examine how organizations, leaders, and systemic structures can create environments that allow individuals to flourish by focusing on what people are genuinely able to achieve with their resources.
