North Yorkshire farmland fire extinguished; police warn of arson risks

A fire broke out on farmland off Bullamoor Road near Northallerton, North Yorkshire, on 3 August 2026 at about 15:30. Multiple hay bales ignited, producing dense smoke that forced the temporary closure of nearby roads. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service brought the blaze under control by around 19:00, after which the roads were reopened.

A 13‑year‑old local boy is assisting police with enquiries.
