North Yorkshire Moors Railway announces October Half Term discounts

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) has announced a School Holiday Savings Rate for the upcoming October Half Term, running from 24 October to 1 November 2026. In an effort to make family outings more affordable during peak periods, the heritage railway is offering discounted fares, including a ‘Kids Go Free’ promotion on standard services where one child receives a free ticket per paying adult.

The holiday programme includes several themed activities, such as free ‘Station Trick or Treat’ events at Pickering, Goathland, and Grosmont stations. Other scheduled events include ‘Tiny Engine Tuesdays’ on 27 October and a ‘Stay & Play’ session for children under five on 28 October. NYMR CEO Laura Strangeway stated that the 2026 fare structure aims to challenge the tradition of increasing prices during school holidays by providing more accessible options for families.
