Northanger Abbey TV adaptation arrives on ITVX
The 2007 TV movie adaptation of Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey is now available for streaming on ITVX. The 86-minute period drama follows Catherine Morland, a young woman obsessed with Gothic romance novels, as she travels to Bath and navigates a love triangle.
The production features a cast including Felicity Jones and Carey Mulligan, alongside Liam Cunningham and Sylvestra Le Touzel. Viewers have described the adaptation as “absorbing” and “beautifully cast,” with some noting that the narrative makes clever changes to the original source material.
