Adding to the political tension, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has explicitly endorsed João Campos for governor, stating, “Quem vota no Lula, vota no João” (Those who vote for Lula, vote for João). This endorsement marks a clear electoral distancing from Governor Lyra.
