Brazil's Inmet issues low‑humidity and heavy‑rain alerts across Northeast states
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued several weather alerts for Brazil's Northeast region. On 22 June, a yellow low‑humidity alert covered 94 municipalities in Bahia, warning of relative humidity between 20 % and 30 % and advising precautions to avoid dehydration and fire risk. The alert was reduced to 34 municipalities on 23 June.
On 25 June, Inmet released a yellow alert for intense rain affecting 100 cities in Paraíba and an orange alert for four municipalities, indicating potential rainfall of 20‑60 mm per hour with strong winds. The same day, Alagoas received orange rain alerts for 28 coastal cities, with expected rain of 30‑60 mm per hour and winds up to 100 km/h, and later yellow alerts for the whole state on 26‑27 June.
A weather forecast for 25 June predicted many clouds and isolated showers along the coastal strip from Bahia to Rio Grande do Norte. Additionally, Vitória da Conquista recorded a minimum temperature of 8.9 °C on 22 June, the lowest in Bahia, while Salvador was expected to see light rain on 23 June ahead of local São João festivities.
