Northeast Gyeongsangbuk-do municipalities form joint tourism belt

Four municipalities in the northeastern region of Gyeongsangbuk-do—Yeongyang, Bonghwa, Uljin, and Yeongju—are accelerating the establishment of a joint 'tourism belt' to boost regional economic vitality.

During the second working-level meeting of the Northeast Local Administrative Cooperation Association held on the 7th, officials discussed specific plans for integrated marketing and collaborative tourism projects. Key initiatives include joint outdoor advertising in large cities and the development of the 'Northeast Baekdudaegan Run Trip' program.

The strategy aims to link the diverse resources of the four areas: Yeongyang's birch forests and starry skies, Bonghwa's natural environment of the Baekdudaegan mountain range, Uljin's marine tourism, and Yeongju's historical and cultural sites. By creating interconnected experiential tourism content, the municipalities hope to encourage longer stays and increased movement of tourists across the entire region.
