Northeast Ohio hosts Lorain County Fair and Cleveland cultural events

Northeast Ohio features several local events scheduled for late August. The 180th annual Lorain County Fair begins in Wellington on August 24, following a preliminary day of harness racing and arts and crafts judging on August 23. The fair's schedule includes a Johnny Cash impersonator, a concert by Sawyer Brown, and a demolition derby on August 30.

In Cleveland, various cultural and sporting activities are taking place. The Asian Lantern Festival is being held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, featuring handmade paper lanterns and an Asian craft market. Musical performances include Jon Batiste appearing with the Cleveland Orchestra and a folk-rock concert by New Long Road at Cain Park. Additionally, the Cleveland Guardians are scheduled to play a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants at Progressive Field.
