Northeastern clubs face varied fates in Brazilian Série B 25th round

The 25th round of the Brazilian Série B features five teams from the Northeast region in varying competitive positions. Fortaleza currently holds 5th place with 40 points, while Sport sits in 6th with 38 points. Both clubs are positioned within the playoff zone for promotion to Série A, a format where only the top two teams earn direct promotion and the third through sixth place teams compete for the remaining two spots.

Sport recently secured a 3-0 victory against América-MG at the Ilha do Retiro stadium, a win that returned them to the G-6. In contrast, América-MG remains in 19th place following their fourth consecutive defeat.

Other Northeastern clubs face different challenges: CRB is in 7th place with 36 points, trailing the G-6 by two points; Náutico is in 15th place, nearing the relegation zone; and Ceará is in 17th place, currently within the relegation zone.
