Northeastern Huskies defeat Boston College Eagles in overtime hockey matchup

The Northeastern Huskies men’s hockey team secured a 4-3 overtime victory against the Boston College Eagles. Boston College initially took an early lead following a power-play goal by Dean Letourneau, but Northeastern responded with two power-play goals from Jacob Mathieu and Amine Hajibi to take a 2-1 lead.

Boston College regained the lead with two unanswered goals from Alex Pelletier and Jake Sondreal late in the second period. However, Mathieu scored his second goal of the night early in the third period to tie the game. The contest remained tied through regulation, leading to an overtime period where Northeastern ultimately secured the win.

The game followed a period of tension involving Boston College coach Greg Brown, who benched Letourneau for the remainder of a period following a roughing penalty that contributed to a Northeastern goal.
