Central Vietnam faces heavy rain and strong sea winds

Heavy rainfall and strong winds are impacting Central Vietnam, with the most intense weather expected between October 28 and 29. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that the region from Ha Tinh to Da Nang will experience heavy to very heavy rain, with localized amounts exceeding 250mm. There is a high risk of intense rainfall exceeding 100mm within a three-hour period, which may lead to flash floods, landslides, and urban flooding.

In maritime areas, the North East Sea, including the Hoang Sa archipelago, is experiencing strong northeast winds of level 6 to 7, with gusts reaching levels 8 to 9 and waves between 2 and 4 meters. The waters from southern Quang Tri to Da Nang are also seeing significant wind and waves.

The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has requested 13 coastal provinces and cities, ranging from Quang Ninh to Dak Lak, to implement emergency response measures. Authorities have advised vessel captains and owners to take precautions to ensure the safety of people and property, while maintaining readiness for rescue and relief operations.
