Argentine industrial sectors warn of economic challenges

Industrial leaders in Argentina's Mesopotamia region and the Norte Grande provinces are raising alarms regarding economic instability and declining competitiveness. In Misiones, forest industry representatives met during the 80th anniversary of the Asociación Forestal Argentina (AFOA) to discuss urgent needs, including improved energy tariffs, road infrastructure, and the resolution of VAT refund delays. Local producers are also calling for mortgage credits for wooden housing and a modernized cabotage law to reduce logistics costs, which currently account for approximately 30% of export values.

In Chaco, the Unión Industrial del Chaco (UICH) warned that without a recovery in domestic consumption, labor reforms will fail to generate employment. The organization noted that the paralysis of public works has significantly impacted industrial production and provincial tax revenue.

Additionally, the Movimiento Industrial Misionero has criticized the Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios, arguing that economic stability should not be achieved through the permanent contraction of the real economy or the closure of small and medium-sized enterprises (PyMEs).
