Northern Borders Region concludes digital innovation hackathon

The Northern Borders Region Digital Innovation Hackathon has concluded in Arar, Saudi Arabia. Held over three days at the Ministry of Interior employees' club, the event was held under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz.

More than 90 competitors, including developers, programmers, researchers, and university students, participated in the event. Out of over 100 registered projects, 35 innovative projects were presented to a judging panel. These projects were categorized into three main tracks: service integration and automation, improving the beneficiary journey, and data and artificial intelligence. Additionally, a partnership with the Ministry of Media led to seven projects focused on combating misinformation and improving official content accessibility.

The solutions presented aimed to simplify government procedures, enhance data connectivity, and utilize AI to support decision-making. Winning ideas will undergo technical and operational evaluations to determine their feasibility for real-world application, aligning with the digital transformation goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
