Northern Borders Region launches digital innovation hackathon

The Northern Borders Region Emirate has launched a digital innovation hackathon in Arar, held at the Ministry of Interior employees' club. Under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the event brings together over 90 specialists, including developers, programmers, data scientists, and AI experts, as well as researchers and university students.

Participants are working across three primary tracks: service integration and automation, enhancing the beneficiary journey, and data and artificial intelligence. In partnership with the Ministry of Media, three additional tracks focus on early detection of misinformation, making official media content accessible, and creating a unified digital window for media inquiries.

The event aims to transform innovative ideas into practical prototypes that address regional challenges, supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 regarding digital transformation and national talent empowerment. Following an initial screening of over 100 projects, 35 projects moved forward to the final presentation and judging phase, where they are evaluated on criteria such as innovation, technical quality, and scalability.
