Northern California music festivals scheduled for September 20

Two music festivals are scheduled to take place in Northern California on Sunday, September 20.

In San Rafael, the sixth annual San Rafael PorchFest will be held in the Gerstle Park neighborhood from noon to 5 pm. The free, family-friendly event features a variety of musical genres, including folk, Americana, gospel, soul, jazz, blues, and Latin. The festival will span several streets, including Marin Street and San Rafael Avenue. To assist with limited parking, free handicap-accessible shuttles will operate from the City of San Rafael parking lot C and 3rd Streets to the event zone.

In Santa Rosa, the Railroad Square Music Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary. Running from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm, the free festival features a lineup of 35 artists, including headliner The Sam Chase & The Untraditional. This year’s programming includes a hip-hop hour, songwriting sessions, line dancing lessons, and a jam session led by Second Hand Funk. The festival aims to highlight the North Bay as a hub for arts and culture.
