Northern Christian leaders urge investment in Dangote Refinery IPO

Rev. Joseph John Hayab, Chairman of the Northern Christian Association (NCA), has encouraged Nigerian Christians to participate in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO). Speaking at a media parley in Kaduna, Hayab emphasized that religious identity should not prevent citizens from engaging in legitimate business opportunities, stating, “Business has no religion. What Dangote is selling is not Islam; Dangote is selling shares.”

Hayab urged the community to view the IPO as a tool for long-term wealth creation and family security, suggesting that investment in shares can fund future generations and education. He noted that the public offer consists of 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at ₦525 per share, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares valued at ₦5,250. The offer period began on September 14 and is set to close on October 13, 2026.

Beyond the investment call, Hayab reflected on Nigeria’s 66 years of independence, noting that ethnic, religious, and regional divisions have hindered national development. He advocated for a stronger sense of national identity and emphasized the importance of sustained democracy and accountable leadership through transparent electoral processes.
