Northern Cyprus Interior Minister Dursun Oğuş Unveils Digital Government and Strong Institutions Plan

Interior Minister Dursun Oğuş told a meeting of the Interior Committee that digital transformation in public administration is accelerating in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He said the government’s goal is to provide faster, safer and more transparent services and to build strong institutions.

The minister highlighted reforms across migration management, land registration, social housing, local government and the prison system. He announced that the digital land‑registry platforms “TAKBİS” and “MAKSİS”, developed with Turkish technical support, are nearing completion and are scheduled to go live in September, which will allow property transactions to be processed entirely online.

The statements were made during the “Vision and Project Workshop for a Strong, Sovereign Future of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”, organized under the leadership of UBP party chairman and prime minister Ünal Üstel, with participation from party officials, civil‑society groups and experts.
