Northern Cyprus to launch 5G services on November 15
5G services are scheduled to launch in Northern Cyprus on November 15. The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTHK) has signed supplementary authorization agreements with mobile operators to establish and operate the necessary infrastructure.
According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, the start date for 5G services using the 700 MHz and 3600 MHz frequency bands has been moved forward by approximately two years. These authorizations will remain valid for 20 years, expiring on November 14, 2046. The agreements include specific regulations regarding service quality and coverage areas.
Additional contracts were signed between BTHK and Vodafone Mobile Operations Limited and Kıbrıs Mobile Telekomünikasyon Limited. Furthermore, agreements with KKTCELL and KKTC Telsim have introduced significant regulatory frameworks for the deployment of 5G technology in the region.
