Northern Iran roads face closures and one-way restrictions

Major traffic restrictions have been implemented on several key northern routes in Iran due to heavy congestion and increased travel demand. The Haraz Road is currently closed to traffic in both directions until further notice.

On the Chalus Road and the Tehran-North Freeway, authorities have enforced one-way traffic management to alleviate congestion. Specifically, travel from north to south is prohibited, while traffic is permitted from south to north until the traffic load is cleared. Heavy traffic has also been reported on the Karaj-Qazvin Freeway and the Tehran-Qom Freeway.

Weather conditions, including rain and fog, are affecting high-altitude areas in the northern provinces of Ardabil, Gilan, Mazandaran, and Golestan, contributing to the difficult driving conditions.
