Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Bryant visits Dublin

Northern Ireland Secretary Sir Chris Bryant is conducting his first official visit to Dublin to engage with Irish government ministers and business leaders. The visit aims to strengthen UK-Irish economic ties, discuss joint security concerns, and address commitments regarding the legacy of the Troubles.

During his engagements, Bryant will hold bilateral meetings with Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Helen McEntee TD, and Minister for Justice, Jim O'Callaghan TD. Discussions are expected to focus on economic growth and the implementation of the Joint Framework regarding legacy matters. Bryant expressed a commitment to upholding the Good Friday Agreement and delivering on shared government responsibilities.

Accompanying the Secretary of State are Northern Ireland Minister Baroness Ruth Anderson and the King's Ambassador to Dublin, Kara Owen. The visit also includes a roundtable with business leaders intended to boost cross-border trade and highlight Northern Ireland’s economic potential for investment.
