Northern Ireland youth football squads and results announced

Northern Ireland Under-19 manager Gareth McAuley has announced a 22-player squad for the upcoming UEFA U19 Euro 2027 qualifiers. The team will compete in a League B Group 5 mini tournament hosted by North Macedonia.

Scheduled matches include fixtures against North Macedonia on November 11, Malta on November 14, and Switzerland on November 17. The squad consists entirely of players with previous experience in the U19 or U17 setups, with several graduates from the Irish FA JD Academy. Under the new qualifying format, group winners in League B will earn promotion to League A for the third round of qualifiers.

In separate junior international action, Northern Ireland’s Eastern Region team secured a 5-0 victory against Albania in a UEFA Regions’ Cup intermediate round tie. The match, held at Arena Egnatia in Rrogozhine, followed a 2-2 draw against West Slovakia earlier in the tournament.
