Northern Islands remain under yellow alert for heavy rain

Météo France has maintained a yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in the Northern Islands through midday Thursday. An unstable atmosphere caused by tropical wave n°42 led to significant rainfall overnight.

In Saint-Martin, Marigot recorded 44 mm of rain within a six-hour period. The weather system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall to Saint-Barthélemy and additional accumulation to Saint-Martin before transitioning to drier, misty conditions later in the day.
