Northern Israel sees tourism resurgence in Safed and Nahariya

Tourism is seeing a significant resurgence in northern Israeli cities such as Safed and Nahariya following a period of decline due to regional conflict.

In Safed, Mayor Yossi Kakan reports a major economic boost during the 'Bein Hazmanim' holiday period. The city is experiencing high volumes of visitors, particularly from the Haredi community, which has led to increased activity in restaurants, bakeries, hotels, and local shops. Kakan noted that the influx of tourists provides a vital economic lifeline, with local business owners stating the revenue is more impactful than government grants.

Similarly, Nahariya is working to restore its tourism routine through summer festivals, light shows, and family-oriented activities. Local representatives highlight the city's accessibility, noting that the promenade, beaches, and attractions are within walking distance, offering a relaxed alternative to the central region.
