Chatham-Kent police seize fentanyl and stolen plaques
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit has concluded a multi-week investigation involving the recovery of stolen commemorative plaques and the seizure of narcotics. Between August 20 and September 2, police executed five search warrants at residences, a trailer, and a vehicle in Chatham.
During the raids, investigators recovered approximately 121 grams of fentanyl, valued at roughly $24,000, along with digital scales, packaging materials, and cellular phones. Police also recovered one intact stolen commemorative plaque and fragments of several others.
Five individuals have been charged in connection with the investigation. A 28-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman are charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property. Other charges issued to men aged 35, 39, and 47 include theft, possession of stolen property, and possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
