Northumberland County hosts volunteer fair and maintains Food4All status

Community Care Northumberland (CCN) will host its annual volunteer fair on September 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre. The free, drop-in event aims to connect local residents with various organizations seeking volunteers to support different causes and services within Northumberland County.

In related community news, Northumberland County has decided to maintain the status quo for the Food4All warehouse following a formal review. The review had previously considered transitioning the warehouse operations to a non-profit organization. This decision comes as the county manages increasing demand for food bank services, which served nearly 6,000 people according to the county’s Feed Change Report. The report noted that almost half of those served were single individuals, primarily seniors.
