Northwest University Kano debunks Emir Sanusi academic claims

Northwest University Kano has issued a formal disclaimer debunking viral social media claims regarding the academic record of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The university stated that a video circulating online, which showed the Emir attending a public lecture organized by the International Humanitarian Law Society, was being used by social media users to falsely claim that he had a ‘carry-over’ and had approached the institution to resolve an academic deficiency.

University officials described the allegations as ‘entirely false, baseless, misleading, and without an iota of fact whatsoever.’ The institution warned that individuals involved in the creation or circulation of such defamatory content could face prosecution under applicable laws and urged the public to rely solely on official university communications for verified information.
