Northwestern and Penn State Alums Join NBA Summer League in Las Vegas

Four Northwestern University alumni—Nick Martinelli (Los Angeles Clippers), Brooks Barnhizer (Oklahoma City Thunder), Boo Buie (Chicago Bulls) and Pete Nance (Milwaukee Bucks)—will compete in the 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League from July 9 to July 19. The former Wildcats will also serve on coaching staffs, with Sanjay Lumpkin joining the Atlanta Hawks as head coach and other alumni assisting the Spurs, Bulls and Thunder.

Two Penn State former players, Ace Baldwin Jr. (Orlando Magic) and Seth Lundy (Toronto Raptors), are also on Summer League rosters. Baldwin Jr., a two‑time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, spent the 2025‑26 season with the Osceola Magic, while Lundy returns after time with the Clippers, Hawks and NBA G League. Games will be streamed on ESPN platforms and Amazon Prime Video throughout the ten‑day event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
